Tunbridge Wells Facts

Tunbridge Wells is an attractive town in West Kent, on the northern edge of the Weald. It has a population of 56,000. The town is the administrative centre of Tunbridge Wells Borough. The town came into being as a spa in Georgian times and had its heyday in the 17th and 18th centuries. Today the town is a relatively affluent place, within commuting distance of London. In 2006 Tunbridge Wells celebrated its 400th anniversary.
